Venus Penis ★★★★★

So, Eden Fantasys has kindly asked that I review some items for them.

My first choice was the Venus Penis which is a strap-on vibrator. This vibe definitely got the job done. What was nice was that being as you didn't have to hold it -- via the handy-dandy straps -- it felt like someone else was handlin' da business for ya.

The penis part itself coulda had a bit more girth but did the job quite nicely. The Venus Penis is shaped like a butterfly or humming bird or some other flying creature and has the added bonus of an anal stimulator.

Now I'm not really one for anal play but it was just enough of a vibration to add a little somethin' somethin'. ;)

The price is right too at just $26.99. It's nice when you don't want to have to tie up your hands from exploring other "sensitive" parts. ;)

♥ Price
♥ Hands-free operation
♥ Texture (easy to clean)
♥ Anal stimulation
♥ Variable speed operation

♥ Girth of penis

Really that's the only thing I didn't like about it!

Ok -- CONTEST TIME!!

Leave me a comment and that will be your submission into the free sex toy contest. One entry per person. Prize: Any toy of your choice up to $50!! Valid only for commenters 21 and over and only for users in the US or Canada (sorry! not my rules!)

A winner will be chosen at random on Monday morning.

Good luck!!

Lynda Carter: At Last ★★

I had the most pleasant of surprises when sifting throug my mail on Tuesday after our vacation. I got another CD from The Karpel Group with a free CD in it.

I opened the package and saw this:

I audibly gasped.

I gotta say, Lynda Carter is about the only MILF that gives me the wiggles. Screw that -- she's the only femme, in general, that gives me the wiggles. LOL

I mean look at her:

Sheeit! She's 90% of the reason why I wear colored contacts! ;)

I mean, remember how excited I was when the Wonder Woman DVDs became available??

OK, onto my opinion of the CD.

She does cover songs of familiar oldies: At Last, You Send Me, Where Did Our Love Go, Deed I Do, Cry Me a River and more...

My girl is gorgeous and I love her dearly.. but... I don't particularly think that singing is her strong suit.

I thought her voice, while beautiful and sultry, isn't necessarily good enough to put to CD in my humble opinion.

I think I cringed when Where Did Our Love Go was on.

As for Cloudburst, I couldn't listen to that song at all. I listened for about 15 seconds and moved onto the next.

I thought only 2 of the 12 songs were worth listening to again and put them on my ipoop. That was You Send Me and The Way You Look Tonight.

The CD is kinda bluesy and old school -- I just didn't love it, is all.

If you want to buy a copy, the release date is June 9th. You can preorder your copy at Lynda Carter Sings.com. As for my copy, I'm sending it to Grumpy Granny for being an uber-awesome reader. I hope you enjoy it! :)

Indigo Girls: Poseidon and the Bitter Bug ★★★

Thanks to The Karpel Group again for sending me this advanced copy of the Indigo Girls latest CD that drops March 24th.

Last year Jess dragged escorted me to one of their shows.

It wasn't as bad as I expected it to be.

The show that is.

They're just far more "folksy" than I typically like... but in person I could appreciate their voices/guitar skills a lot more.

I also was introduced to Missy Higgins at that concert -- who I like now :)

OK, so the CD. Actually, it's a double-CD. Two CDs with the same songs: one is the band version and the other CD is the acoustic version.

Umm, I didn't like either. Though the acoustic version was a tad better.

Jess liked the CDs though!

I did like the first track, "Digging for Your Dream" -- so I was all excited about the rest of the CD. I thought maybe the whole CD wouldn't be so folksy...

...but it was. LOL

And, well, that's just not how I roll.

I gave this ★★★ because they are very talented and the butch one (Amy) is kinda cute. ;)

I'm also giving away my copy of this double CD.

Just leave me a comment and a winner will be randomly selected a week from today (Monday).

Out at the Wedding ★★

Synopsis:

Transplanted Southerner, Alex Houston (Andrea Marcellus), has found life as a successful wine importer in Manhattan to be a pretty fabulous life. Laughs come in spades from her best gay pal since childhood, Jonathan (Charlie Schlatter) and love is found in the package of Dana (Mystro Clark), a dreamy bi-racial airline pilot. When he unexpectedly proposes to her the day she’s to leave town for her sister’s wedding, life gets complicated. Having assumed her southern family would never accept her ethnic boyfriend, she’s never told them he exists. In turn, she’s led Dana to believe her entire family is dead. Now, don’t judge her too harshly, it was sort of a mix up that turned into genocide. Making an excuse to leave town, she takes Jonathan as her date to the wedding and figures once she gets through the weekend, she’ll come clean to everyone.
Thanks to The Karpel Group, who sent me this DVD to review.

OK, so while this movie had a lot of elements to it that a movie needs: a conflict, a resolution, some familiar actors, comic relief and likeable characters... the fluidity of this film was just.... off.

Maybe it's my filmmaking degree talking.

...but... the acting I thought felt like acting. Whoever arranged the soundtrack made some mistakes in their choices of music (especially background instrumentals).

...and in some parts it was hard to suspend disbelief because the film took some UNlikely turns.

BUT -- it was an overall cute concept.... so if it's ever on LOGO and you have nothing better to do, watch it.

I'm also giving away my copy of this DVD.

Just leave me a comment and a winner will be randomly selected on Monday.

Milk ★★★★★

Synopsis:

When a famous person, like the nation's first openly gay male city supervisor, inspires an acclaimed book (The Mayor of Castro Street) and Oscar-winning documentary (The Times of Harvey Milk), a biopic can seem superfluous at best. Taking over from Oliver Stone and Bryan Singer, Gus Van Sant, whose previous picture was the more experimental Paranoid Park, directs with such grace, he renders the concern moot. Unlike Randy Shilts' biography, which begins at the beginning, Dustin Lance Black's script starts in 1972, just as Milk (Sean Penn, in a finely-wrought performance) and his boyfriend, Scott (James Franco, equally good), move from New York to San Francisco. Milk opens a camera shop on the Castro that becomes a safe haven for victims of discrimination, convincing him to enter politics. With each race he runs, Harvey's relationship with Scott unravels further. Finally, he wins, and the real battle begins as Milk takes on Proposition 6, which denies equal rights to homosexuals. He does what he can to rally politicians, like George Moscone (Victor Garber) and Dan White (Josh Brolin). While the mayor is willing, the conservative board member has reservations, and after Milk fails to back one of White’s pet projects, the die is cast, leading to the murder of two beloved figures. If Van Sant’s film captures Harvey in all his complexities (he was, for instance, a very funny man), Milk also serves as an enticement to grass-roots activism, showing how one regular guy elevated everyone around him, notably Cleve Jones (Emile Hirsch), the ex-street hustler who created the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial. Released in the wake of Proposition 8, California’s anti-gay marriage amendment, Milk is inspirational in the best way: one person can and did make a difference, but the struggle is far from over.

This movie was absolutely amazing.

Not only was the acting INCREDIBLE (seriously, Sean Penn only gets more and more impressive in his acting with every movie...), but it was exquisitely shot.

Josh Brolin was practically a double for White -- and the cuts to the actual footage from the days of Harvey Milk were a heart-wrenching reminder that this was no fairy tale.

This movie absolutely deserved every award the Academy threw at it.

This is a must see. :)
